Most passengers will like the spaciousness and the high level of comfort provided by the seats and the rest of the cabin. In contrast to the BMW 2 Series Sport, Toyota’s 86 is a more down-to-earth take on the notion of a small sporty vehicle. Direct competitors are pretty unusual. So even if you don’t require the Civic Sedan’s additional utility, the Civic Sport is worth a test drive.

Honda’s latest Civic Sport model is the best example of the brand’s much-needed flare. An ideal balance of design elements and size is achieved in this Sport. Depending on the specific model, all variants are available with either 16-, 17-, or 18-inch wheels. Wheels with gloss black inlay details are standard on the Sport. Standard features include auto-on/off projector-beam halogen headlights and integrated LED light bars. For $1,850, black and blue fashion packs may be added to the touring trim. Even though it has the same 106.3-inch wheelbase as the Civic Sedan, the Civic Sport is faster. The item is 70.9 centimeters in width and 54.9 centimeters in height. At this writing, the Touring weighs 2,937 pounds while the LX weighs 2,763 pounds. When managing a series of turns, the Sport is much superior to the XL.

Interior

Only two seats are available in the Civic Sport. Due to the tight backseat of this car, There was no escaping the fact that performance would have to suffer for the Sport to be considered trendy. Getting in and out of a sedan is more accessible than getting out of this vehicle because of its smaller, lighter front door. You’ll have to twiddle and spin your way to the back of the car. The well-padded seats in the front row give enough head and legroom. A notable shortage of headroom is evident for anybody over six feet tall.

Because of its shorter rear end, the trunk of the Civic Sport is much smaller than the Civic Sedan. The LX and Sport offer 12.1 cubic feet of space, while the EX and Touring have 11.9 cubic feet. If you want to do some light sports, there’s plenty of room. The Subaru BRZ has a trunk capacity of 6.9 cubic feet. The 60/40-split rear seats provide more cargo room. In addition, there is a front center console with several cupholders and door pockets.

Engine

This year’s Civic Sport EX and Touring models come standard with a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, while the Civic Sport LX and Sport models come standard with a 158-horsepower, 138 lb-ft of torque, 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. A six-speed manual gearbox is standard on all versions save the Sport. However, the Sport model has a CVT transmission as an alternative.

On the highway, a period of just seven seconds separates the turbo-four from the 2.0-liter engine. Although the Civic Sport would have been the perfect vehicle without the six-speed manual transmission, its more powerful engine is incompatible with the Civic Sport. In addition to making the Civic noisier, installing a CVT makes the car more difficult to drive, too.

2023 Honda Civic Release Date and Price

The base price of the LX Civic Sport is $20,950. The EX costs $23,500, and the Sport costs $21,750. With a CVT, the Sport is $800 more expensive than a manual. Not a single price is shown for it.
