Next-Gen Honda Ridgeline 2024 Update, Model, Specs – As the market for midsize trucks continues to grow, the 2024 Honda Ridgeline carves out a niche for itself as an alternative to crossover SUVs and workhorse pickups. Based on the three-row Honda Pilot SUV, the Ridgeline competes with tried-and-true trucks like the Toyota Tacoma and Nissan Frontier, as well as newcomers like the Ford Maverick and Hyundai Santa Cruz.
The truck’s squared-off front face and LED lighting give it more muscle than competitors based on the Honda Pilot. The truck’s quiet cabin is surprisingly big for all the controls on its dashboard.
This gets a seven on the scale. The bottom part of the bumper is separated from the side vents that direct air to the front wheels by a more prominent skid plate. New 18-inch wheels look great in the revised, squared-off wheel wells. The bumper makes a point of displaying the vehicle’s dual exhaust outlets.
The exterior design of the Honda Ridgeline 2024 is unchanged from that of the 2024 version. However, there is another grayscale option. The Ridgeline has a more rugged appearance than before, thanks to its squared-off bumper and wide grille. Additionally, twin exhaust pipes situated behind the wheel wells provide some growl to the otherwise stealthy black exterior.
The Honda Performance Development (HPD) aesthetic package still includes the massive black fender flares and the bronze 18-inch wheels. Almost everything about the Pilot’s cockpit is similar to that of the Pilot, with the exception of the console’s back panel and the width of the dashboard.
The Ridgeline’s all-wheel-drive system allows it to perform adequately in light off-road terrain despite its intended use on paved roads. Powered by a 3.5-liter V-6, it generates 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. Despite the fact that the most power is available at higher engine speeds, the 9-speed automatic transmission rarely uses them. It can tow up to 5,000 pounds and carry 1,500 pounds.
There is a 5.0-foot composite bed with an underfloor cooler and a swing-out or retractable tailgate on the Ridgeline crew cab. The Ridgeline may be cleverly designed like a truck, but it rides and handles like a crossover thanks to its unibody construction.
Rear passengers may stretch out with 36.8 inches of legroom, while front seat occupants can enjoy the 8-inch touchscreen and physical volume knob that come standard. Automatic emergency braking, active lane control, and adaptive cruise control are just some of the high-tech safety systems built into the 2024 Ridgeline. The NHTSA gave it a perfect rating for crashworthiness, while the IIHS gave it a “poor” rating for frontal crash protection.
The Honda Ridgeline 2024 combines the best qualities of an SUV and a pickup truck in one vehicle, thanks to its adjustable bed. There is a lot to like about this vehicle, especially the hidden trunk bed and the roomy crew cab that can accommodate up to five passengers.

The power-sliding rear window is standard on all models except the base one, and the 60/40 split bench seat folds down when not in use, making room for a bicycle, golf clubs, or large dogs whose heads fit through the window. The bed concealed by the doors is on the small side, measuring 60″ in length and 50″ in width.
The tailgate isn’t padded, but it can be swung out from the driver’s side and lowered like a stable door or raised like a barn door. The drain plug is accessible from behind the vehicle, and there is a trunk on the floor that locks. It serves dual purposes as both a refrigerator and a storage unit. In more expensive models, there are power outlets in the bed and speakers in the back door.
The 280 hp produced by the 3.5-liter V-6 in the Ridgeline allows it to hit 60 mph in less than seven seconds. However, it’s only somewhat quicker, not really capable, and quite comfy. This midsize truck’s rear bed doesn’t affect the ride or handling like it does on other unstable body-on-frame pickups.
Due to its unibody design, the Ridgeline is remarkably refined and composed on most roads, and its handling provides a more engaging driving experience than that of competitor trucks.
Even if the engine’s maximum power is reached at higher rpm, the 9-speed automatic transmission rarely keeps the engine revving at that level. When attempting a pass at highway speeds, it hesitates after switching out of overdrive. The V-6’s 262 lb-ft of torque allows it to tow as much as a Honda Pilot, which is 5,000 pounds. It can carry up to 1,500 pounds, which is an excellent addition.

The HPD exterior trim kit is standard on all 2024 Ridgeline models except the base Sport. The RTL, RTL-E, and Black Edition are all available as variants.
